<p>True story.</p>
<p>And since that day I’ve been affected by the lazy gene. So when it comes to words like work and rewrite, etc it makes me shutter. So here is how I do a majority of the PLR reworking.</p>
<p>I outsource it.</p>
<p>Seriously – why am I going waste my time working on packages when I can get several people to do the work for me for pennies on the dollar. I’ve had a bunch of things done for me – transcripts, writing, video, editing, etc for less than $3 an hour.</p>
<p>So what I do it look at a PLR package and think about how I would like to look. A new cover, a new name, a few new and additional documents, tools, etc.</p>
<p>Then I head over to an outsourcing place (odesk, elance, etc) and get to work hiring people.</p>
<p>A new DVD type graphic cover with a new name &#8211; $15</p>
<p>Transcriptions of audio or video &#8211; $2.22 an hour</p>
<p>A quick start guide &#8211; $20-30 tops</p>
<p>Then what I would do is this. Get a written document and sell it for dirt cheap on a forum. Think about it – use the low perceived value against the buyer. They aren’t expecting much so you charge dirt cheap prices for it ($7 or less).</p>
<p>Then have an upsell or a one time offer that adds them the total package which is mostly the original PLR package or slightly rewritten.</p>
<p>So you have a rewritten PLR package as a front end and best of all it is totally done for you.</p>
<p>The other thing I do with PLR is take it big and make it small (also something I have been cursed with). Meaning that if you have a mega package of PLR on a topic why not take it and reduce the total size on content.</p>
<p>Most people I know want is a single solution to a single problem. So instead of some mega Twitter on Crack product – why not solve a single problem – like how to get more followers. You can charge less for the package and once they are interested in a single part of the solution – they’ll want more and more and more.</p>
<p>Also because of the lower price it makes it more of an impulse purchase and cheaper than a mega course.</p>

<p>But what are you going to talk about during those years and keep people interested and paying you money?</p>
<p>Sure you may know some great stuff and be able to teach at the beginning but what about year 3?</p>
<p>That is why I love PLR. Look you can’t be everything to everyone. No matter how much you know, people want more and more. So using PLR can really help give your customers new information that they want and the money that you want. It’s a win-win really.</p>
<p>Now the next thing you’re thinking is what about Google or someone else noticing. That’s the great thing about membership sites and PLR – it is private. So they never see it. In fact here is a dirty little secret … 80% of the membership sites out there use PLR on a normal basis.</p>
<p>They have to because people’s ability to consume is much greater than your ability to produce.</p>
<p>So how do you do it? Well there are a lot of ways but I am just going to share one with you because it is what I would do.</p>
<p>I would take whatever the PLR package is and digest it all. Then I’d take that information and make a quick start guide that would be as original as possible and that would be my lead in product to sell people the membership site.</p>
<p>Inside the membership site would be a collection or PLR and original content. I’d set it all up for weekly emails through an autoresponder (I use aweber) so it could be as hands off as possible. Add more PLR – get more content – make some of it original if possible. Rinse and repeat.</p>

<p>John and Matt taught me a cool trick to <strong>take part of a sales letter or the main package and do a Google search with it.</strong> It will show you if it is already out in the world and who is using it where.</p>
<p>Don’t freak if you find it out there. <em>It happens.</em></p>
<p>All you have to do is decide if you want to put in the work to repurpose the PLR and once you decide to do that, then just get to work. It ain&#8217;t rocket surgery.</p>

Think about the tried and true advice about becoming an expert on anything in life. <strong>You collect a bunch of information, read through it, use it and over time with information and experience you become an expert.</strong></p>
<p>And it doesn’t take years, only months (maybe even quicker). Want to know a shortcut? Actually put the stuff into action and report on your findings. <em>Think about it</em> – I’m a book worm who has read everything there is on twitter. You’re a guy or gal who has only had a few things on twitter but you actually put it into use. So you see what works, what doesn’t etc.</p>
<p>Now I put out a product and talk only about what is in the book, then you come along and blow me out of the water because you have what most of want in life – <strong>PROOF it works</strong>. There is nothing better in this world than PROOF something works and apples to apples you’ll kick my butt every time.</p>
<p>So now you have info, you have proof it works, now you just start telling people about your knowledge and experience. In forums, in writing (which you can use PLR to help with), anywhere and everywhere you can tell people you are an expert because you are.</p>
<p>How do you think anyone else becomes an expert? <strong>They learn, they do, they find out what works and tell others about it. PLR just helps cut down the learning curve.</strong> You could get 3 PLR packages and within a weekend learn more about any topic you want.</p>
<p>So now you have the knowledge, now you need to take action with it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I used to find private label rights like everyone else – buy everything in site and then let the turds float to the surface. Seriously, the only rhythm and reason for me buying a PLR package was the balance of my paypal account.</p>
<p>Then I tried a few different PLR membership sites but most of them were heavy on promise, light on content, etc. Finally I got tired of it all and did what Dr. Phil would recommend – ask the expert. So when I hooked up with John and Matt I had to ask – where do you guys get your PLR&#8230; cause all I am getting is rejects?</p>
<p>While they wouldn’t give me their source (not enough drinking I guess) Matt and John did tell me some great ways to ensure the PLR package I buy next is quality and not crap.</p>
<p>The first thing they told me was to <strong>look at the total package including the sales letter.</strong> Instead of just glossing over it, I actually took the time to read it. It makes sense because if it is a good outline or it makes me want to buy then chances are it will make others do the same.</p>
<p>Then they told me to contact the seller and request a sample or a peak inside. Again, you can overdo this, but if you are establishing a relationship with a new seller it might not be a bad idea to ask them to see a part of the package to ensure it is what you are looking for.</p>
<p>So quick recap – 1. Ask the experts who they use to get good quality PLR.</p>
<p>2. Read the sales letter for the product and if it makes you want to buy chances are others will want to as well.</p>
<p>3. If the seller is willing, get a review copy of the PLR package to ensure it contains what you need. Only do this if you’re serious about buying it and having an ongoing relationship with the seller.</p>
<p>My last tip is one for me when it comes to buying PLR is this – look for upper end PLR. Meaning stuff that already has video or audio or both for you along with a kick butt graphics package. That way you can always go down (transcripts, fast action guides, etc) instead of having to invest hours in audio and video production.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I really think the title of this blog should be why people fail in life. The reason? The same reason people fail at PLR is the same reason they fail in life.</p>
<p>People fail because they fail to take action. Seriously, how many times have you had a good idea and then sat on it and done nothing with it. I’ve done it a hundred times at least so you’re not alone.</p>
<p>Remember the free PLR blog? Did you go out and find a free PLR, repurpose it and give it away like I suggested? I doubt it, and you’re not alone.</p>
<p>Look when John and I talked about PLR I didn’t just sit on it – in fact I setup a membership site and repurposed 2 PLR products within a few days of our talk. Why? Because I know to get anything in life you have to … take action.</p>
<p>Here is what I did with both of the PLR products. I read them twice and anytime I had a feeling or something spoke to me I highlighted it. Then at the end of the reports I took what spoke to me and turned the 50 page report into a 10 page no fluff one. And I did it instantly. Seriously, one was at 2:30 in the morning, the other at 8 o’clock at night.</p>
<p>In fact most of the time when desire hits me I stop what I am doing and take action until it is done. Simple I know but a lot of people don’t do it. So here is my suggestion – find a PLR you are interested in, read it over, take out the guts and make it into a no fluff report. Or what about that PLR you wanted to turn into something else? Stop thinking and start … taking action.</p>
<p>Don’t be like me, don’t let PLR stuff collect virtual dust. Stop dreaming, start doing.</p>

In fact because it is free it has no perceived value to anyone who gets it so 99% of the people who do download it let it collect virtual dust.</p>
<p>In fact that is something to remember about PLR in general – 95% of your competition isn’t because they are paralyzed by fear and inaction like most people who buy PLR are. But this is about Free PLR and what to do with it.</p>
<p>Here is what I would do – use it as a learning tool. Seriously, play around with it. If it is decent, take the meat of the report and repurpose it into something else. If you want to practice turning a report into an audio or a video then this would be a great way to get started. What about breaking the report up and making a blog or autoresponder with it?</p>
<p>Once you do that what is step 2? Give it away. Seriously, back when I was in the military we use to host a monthly free meal of all the base singles. I’d get the task of asking them how they liked the meal and we’d always have one or two people complain about this or that.</p>
<p>My response? We’ll since you didn’t like the meal I’ll give you your money back.</p>
<p>It quickly sunk in that they couldn’t/shouldn’t complain about something they got for free.</p>
<p>So take that report and give it away. Build a list of followers with it, share it with those in need, hell burn it for heat in the winter. This is about the process and the system of repurposing PLR, not to get rich.</p>
<p>Take the free PLR, repurpose it and give it away to others. That’s what I would do with Free PLR.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys, Tim here again, this is my second post. I&#8217;m going to jump right in here and follow up directly with my post from yesterday. After I figured out what PLR could do for me I decided to invest in some. Before my talk with John here is how I used to invest in PLR.</p>
<p><strong>Buy. Buy. Buy. Buy. Buy. Buy. Buy. Buy.</strong></p>
<p>Seriously, if it said PLR rights on it I would buy it quicker than Lindsay Lohan would down a bottle of booze.</p>
<p>I once spent $299 on a PLR package of 250 products and I will tell you this – <em>it looks real good collecting cyber dust on my hard drive.</em></p>
<p>I had the best intentions (who doesn’t?) but to be honest a lot of it is <strong>crap</strong> and even though it came with a reasonably cheap price tag I still regret buying it.</p>
<p>So in talking with John, he gave me a great tip when it comes to investing in PLR. <strong>Read the sales letter of the product you are thinking of buying. </strong>If it looks like something thrown together or your gut doesn’t like it then move on to the next. To me it made perfect sense and after I kicked myself for not thinking about it first I decided I would do that from now on.</p>
<p>Another little tip I use in PLR is this – <strong>invest in the bigger package</strong> (ok I’ll admit it – I laughed). What I mean is that I know me and me is lazy. So I will pay a few bucks more for a video package for a few reasons.</p>
<p>1.       It has a higher perceived value. We are a YouTube generation and video in our minds means it cost more than an ebook.</p>
<p>2.       I can always go down for cheaper than I can go up. What I mean is it takes me seconds to turn video into audio files and 10-20 bucks to get transcripts of those files. So instead of some crappy ebook <strong>now I have a video course, audio program, and ebook</strong> for much less than it would cost me to get videos made or even audio files. Best of all I can <em>outsource </em>it all making sure it gets done.</p>
<p>The last little tip is this- <strong>don’t buy PLR unless you are going to use it. </strong>Seriously, sounds simple doesn’t it but I can’t tell you how many times I have bought something and then thought “what the hell am I going to do with this now?” So if it isn’t something I can use within a few days or something I am actively searching for I don’t buy it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So John and Matt call me why I’m sitting in the airport getting ready to fly to Farmington NM (if you get the chance to go – pass) and ask me to guest blog about private label rights for the next two weeks. Sure John and Matt I’d love to .. as soon as I figure out what the hell private label rights (I’m calling them PLR from now on cause I am lazy and hate typing private label rights – damn it, did it again).</p>
<p>Where was I, oh yes PLR. I really don’t know much about PLR to be honest. Seriously I’ve heard about them, hell I’ve even bought a few (like 500 or so) but for me my experience is limited to “click here to buy this PLR”</p>
<p>The biggest problem I have with PLR is this:</p>
<p>1.       What to buy? I mean how do I know if it is crap or not? What are some warning signs that might let me know beforehand that I am about to waste a day’s wage (about 3 bucks) on the secrets of hamster raising PLR?</p>
<p>2.       What to do with it? Do I just throw it out there unedited (bad idea btw), do I totally redo it, do I just take the best parts and throw away the rest?</p>
<p>3.       What can I do with it? Can I edit it totally, remake it into a video, a membership site, something else?</p>
<p>So over the next couple of blog post I am going to try and sort it out for me and you. Make no mistake – John and Matt are the experts, I am just an average guy who wants to get involved and use PLR but has no clue or idea how to.</p>
<p>With that in mind I asked John to sit down with me and explain some stuff about PLR to me. And boy did he. Seriously, I went from a guy who knew jack crap about PLR to actually making not one, but two different PLR products in under 2 hours. I took action with just one of those products and made close to $70 in two days with it. Not bad for the 99 cents I paid for it. More on this later though.</p>
<p>Back to PLR. PLR to me is standing on the shoulders of giants and a great way to get intel on different market places. Seriously, if there is a PLR about a topic I’d guess there is a market willing to buy that product to go along with it. So instead of having to go and spends days and hours searching for market places I could take a PLR product and not only learn about the market but become an instant expert and a published author (that has a nice ring to it) as well.</p>
<p>The other thing PLR is to me is research. Know how most books are written – take 3 books on any subject, take out the best info of each of them, and then add your own personal touch along with the best info and faster than you can say Shamwow you’re an author with a new book. Now why I don’t suggest you do that – it has been done and truth be told taking the meat of the PLR is a great way to put out your first PLR product.</p>
<p>So there you have it – what I think PLR is – it’s research on a topic, a niche finder – one that buys products btw, and gives you the ability to enter that niche and become an expert pretty quickly.</p>
